Here’s a hot steamy cup of Hollywood Joe thanks to our awesome Hollywood Wax Museum employee and guest blogger, Hollywood Joseph.
When it comes to hot dogs, Pinks seems to get all the glory. But, my favorite spot for awesome hot dogs, fries and lemonade is Skooby’s on Hollywood Boulevard near Cherokee Avenue (a quick walk from the Hollywood Wax Museum.) Well, my lunchtime craving turned into a cool celebrity sighting — but this crowd wasn’t there for the hot dogs.
It was the Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony for The Go-Go’s, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album “Beauty and the Beat”… the first #1 album by an all-girl band. Thirty years ago, this stretch of Hollywood Boulevard was home to The Masque, a small punk rock nightclub where the Go-Go’s first performed together, so, it’s the perfect place for their star.
Tomorrow night, these feisty ladies are doing a show at the Pechanga Theater in Temecula, CA and then moving on to Colorado and Texas on their Ladies Gone Wild tour. One more fun fact: this summer, “Beauty and the Beat” was reissued on pink vinyl. Not as good as a Skooby’s hot dog, but gotta love it!
Thanks, Joseph. Hollywood Joe’s gotta know. Have you ever seen the Go-Go’s live? What’s your favorite girl band? Comment here or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
