Background:

The Hollywood Wax Museum is the longest-running wax museum in the United Sates, owned and operated by the same family since its first location opened on Hollywood Boulevard in 1965.

The Hollywood Wax Museum-Pigeon Forge opened May 11, 2012 after breaking ground in June, 2011. At 22,000 square feet, it is the largest Hollywood Wax Museum, with two floors of celebrity displays. The building honors the film industry and its movie-making capitals with a replica of the Hollywood Sign and a New York City Skyline, complete with The Great Ape of Pigeon Forge. The 40-foot primate houses the Museum's VIP Observation Deck with excellent views of the Great Smoky Mountains. The other major architectural feature is a Hollywood-ized version of Mt. Rushmore.
