BRANSON, MO - March 8th, 2012 - On March 7, 2012, the best of Branson, Missouri, the "live music capital of the world" shook its groove thing to raise money for the Branson Arts Council. The event was originally scheduled for February 29th, 2012, which was delayed due to the tornado that hit Branson that day.

Chuck O'Day, the general manager of the Hollywood Wax Museum, one of the four attractions included in Branson's Hollywood Entertainment Center danced with professional dancer Stephanie Richardson.

The 3rd Annual Dancing with the Stars of Branson took place at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater. The competition allowed audience members to decide the winning couple by donating one dollar per vote.

All the proceeds from ticket sales supported the Branson Arts Council, which is dedicated to keeping the arts and culture alive in the community. The funds raised by the individual couples were donated to the charities of their choice. Some of the charities included were Branson Center for the Arts, Tri-Lakes Community Theatre, Jesus was Homeless, and the Day for Shay & Pals.

Dancing with the Stars of Branson has enjoyed great success. Last year's event raised over $13,000. Over $33,000.00 was raised at this year's event with a record 510 attendees. Chuck and Stephanie won both the Mirror Ball Trophy (for most money raised) and the Judges Cup (for the couple that "tickled the judges' fancy" the most). This was the first time in the event's history that a couple has won in two categories. Bob Nichols, the show's creative producer said; "Each year, it just gets bigger and bigger. It's overwhelming."

The Hollywood Entertainment Center was excited to take part in this wonderful event that benefits the arts and supports the community of Branson Missouri.

Chuck and Stephanie danced to support the Branson Arts Council and for A Day for Shay and Pals. A Day for Shay is dedicated to researching and finding treatments for autism, named for Chuck's daughter Shay, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 18 months.
