Hollywood Wax Museum employee Joseph seems to have more insight than the paparazzi when it comes to celebrities. His latest scoop comes from small screen actor, but big time man Peter Mensah.
After a day at the Hollywood Wax Museum, I was on my way to the Pantages Theater to experience a little bit of Broadway in Los Angeles, when I saw my favorite Roman warrior. I remember Peter Mensah from his role as the messenger in 300. Even though it was a short part (he was kicked into the black hole), it was definitely memorable. Now he’s on the small screen and back to the ancient battlefields. I have been glued to the TV ever since 2010 when Spartacus: Blood and Sand premiered on Starz. Probably the biggest, best warrior on the show is Oenomaus, the trainer of the gladiators. Oenomaus is brilliant, tough, and disciplined. He is so strong on the show, that when I bumped into Peter Mensah, I almost ran in the other direction!
Good thing I didn’t. Peter was such a nice guy and even on his way to a charity event for Global Green USA to promote a clean environment. Originally from Ghana, Peter moved to England as a child where he studied martial arts, and in his post grad years, worked as an engineer. Peter moved again to Canada to begin his acting career, and at the age of 52, he’s in the best shape of his life. (He’s 6’4″ seriously this guy is huge!)
His entertainment career is thriving, and as if he couldn’t get enough blood in the gladiator pit, Peter will join the cast of True Blood for Season 5, debuting this Sunday, June 10, 2012! Peter wouldn’t give me the secrets of the new season of Spartacus, but hopefully his role on True Blood doesn’t mean Oenomaus will be killed off after his capture last season! Ah… the suspense is killing me! I’ll have to tune into True Blood on HBO to get my share of tough guy Peter this summer.
Thanks Joseph! We look forward to seeing more of Peter Mensah!
