Our own Hollywood Joseph caught sight of actress Nina Dobrev while enjoying a walk in Santa Monica. Little did he know she’d go on to win a Teen Choice Award the very next day!
If you’ve ever been to Southern California, you know that you’re never really more than a 30-minute drive from the ocean. It’s one of my favorite things about living here! I also love spending most of my days and nights working the box office at the Hollywood Wax Museum, but every so often on a day off, I head over to the beaches and boardwalks of Santa Monica.
Today, I did just that with a plan to relax for a while and buy a gift card for my nephew at Pacific Park (you know, the place with the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel and an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean!). Anyway, I’m walking along the pathway heading to the pier when I see Nina Dobrev!
She’s the tremendous actress on Vampire Dairies who originally comes from Bulgaria (by way of Canada). I recognized her right away, since I sometimes watch the show with my niece (who absolutely LOVES her!).
You might also remember her from The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) or the most recent version of the Canadian teen TV hit Degrassi.
Anyway, I took out my camera to snap a photo — and she pointed right at me! Cool, right? She didn’t have time to stop and chat, but I’m sure she must have been quite busy getting ready for the Teen Choice Awards tomorrow.
Good luck Nina!
Guess you were her good luck charm, Joseph! Nina took home the Fantasy/Sci Fi statue for her dual roles of Elena and Katherine on The Vampire Diaries. Readers: What’s your favorite activity when you have a day off work? Tell us in the comments below.
