Working right in the center of Hollywood means occasionally catching the celebrations of a big-time movie premiere! And that’s just what happened when Joseph stumbled upon the premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier — and all its stars!
Oh my goodness! I can’t believe my luck. A few weeks ago, just as I was leaving my post at the Hollywood Wax Museum, I realized that another big red carpet event was happening down the street at the El Capitan Theatre. There were so many onlookers and so many reporters and photographers… I figured it had to be a big deal, and it was! It was the premiere of the latest Captain America film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier!
I had just read all about the movie online — it once again stars Chris Evans as Captain America, and picks up after the events of 2012’s The Avengers. This time, good ol’ Cap is on the hunt for an assassin known as the Winter Soldier. But who the assassin really is might surprise you … I can’t wait to see the film, which comes out in theaters all over the States on April 4th!
Always toting my trusty camera, I decided to stop and take some photos. Seeing the stars walk the red carpet never gets old, and I was really excited because some of my favorite stars were in attendance! Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Coulson on ABC’s Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., was there to support his fellow Marvel stars — and he even brought along his wife Jennifer Grey, who I was lucky enough to take a “selfie” with. Remember her? She starred in Dirty Dancing, one of my family’s favorite movies.
Later, I caught a glimpse of Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson in the film (also known as the superhero Falcon)! He stopped and chatted with a lot of the fans who lined the red carpet… what a great guy!
I have to admit — I was most excited to see Samuel L. Jackson… Nick Fury himself! He is back as the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Captain America: The Winter Soldier – but I remember him best from other great movies like Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, and the remake of Shaft.
Working in Hollywood is the best! You never know when you might run into a gaggle of superheroes right on Hollywood Boulevard! Hope to see you at the Hollywood Wax Museum soon!
Thanks, Joseph! What a great story! Readers, it’s your turn: Who’s your favorite Marvel superhero? Iron Man? The Hulk? Captain America? Post your comments below, or over on Facebook.
